Companionship By Chance
A friend, met and recognized
as one, in the span
of minutes; a new friendship prized -
and all thanks to randomness, it began.
We sat and talked for hours,
of this and that and the in-betweens,
fast fondness such as this, one looks for and scours,
over the hilltops and down the ravines.
The day dawned around us,
before we even turned and saw;
we spoke, then, to each other of thus,
and from this would not withdraw.
We played a game, then, she and I;
with words she bade my mind swarm -
I looked into this, my poet's eye,
and through it watched this poem form.
