At times, comments, seem faster than a suped-up Greyhound bus. Why write words at all, just a cold minus or a gigantic plus? I get to know poets in comments very well. Their beliefs, convictions..in a comment tell! Grateful always when a poet takes the time. You make my poet-soul, tick-tock and shine Thank you… Pangie

A gigantic plus for this one, dear Pangie. You are an astute observer of humans and the human condition and you call it like you see it. Yes, comments are really the glue that keeps friendships together and the water that allows poetic flowers to grow. Thank you for your many uplifting comments over the years and for always (and I mean always) replying to the comments that people leave for you. You, John, are not in a race to be read! Oh, you are ready for publication, my friend.On many sites! Being upfront has multiple disadvantages, the worst is being hated and seeing pages of hatred by fellow poets. That was a wake up call for me! All is not light and kissey face here. Most have abandoned me. Good idea for their popularity. I am some kind of “stain”here, John. Which is fine. However, I do have a heart. And losing my best friends here? Hardly a reason to go on now, is there? You are a top quality poet and friend. For that, and your substantial comments I am eternally grateful. Huggs, Pangie

Indeed,we are. Look at great poets of yore. They wrote lovely poetry, some, lengthy. Even poetry in size is shrinking. What! Do we think it is messaging? Like on a cell phone! And why are we so afraid of classic forms? Some here are not. So poetry is like grass, then! To be mowed down to almost nothing? Rapid Communication is the be all and end all? How morose this makes me. And what can I do to not be part of selling the art of poetry down the River? Thank you, Huggs, Pangie

Long comments can be divine that is sure true. I think we are more inclined to use long comments when we relate to the poem's message a lot. And I got to know YOU in emails!!

All, are indeed, welcome, Anaya. Bless you for your thoughts about my daughter. She had stiches taken out this A.M But the bruising will remain for two more weeks. It changes colors daily! She was quite calm with blood running down the side of her head! That’s just how she is! Not one who wants pity…just gets going! Have a great weekend. Merci~ Pangie

Ditto, Prince on all the above. Mi daughter has her stiches removed today, hurrah! I am glad all turned out well. Even my best friends no longer comment. That’s a hard one to deal with, but as my Mother told me..”You’ll live!” I guess so. Pangie

Pangie your words ring much truth. If your going to comment be genuine not generic, and be honest in conveying what you have read. I feel your concern it kind of makes you feel like the reader doesn't really care and is just going through the motions...

LOL…oh, you mean” cookie cutter” comments? The game here is reading ASAP. Answer in one line? That’s just how it is. Yes! Going through the motions. A race? We all are sensitive here. We all cannot or do not spend all our waking hours here, although once I did. I appreciate your replies. I think I know you through them. I did not know Plato loathed poetry.
