Comfort

COMFORT I stand here, So very scared But, you didn’t seem to care I talked to you of how I felt About what happened there You said no words of comfort No look of kindness showed No arm came round my shoulder To comfort and to care No furious words of outrage No soft endearing tones No hand out-reaching Just silence everywhere I said those words That showed you How frightened I had been I said, You probably wouldn’t care If something had happened there Then slowly, I turn round And look Into the empty air
