Come Back?
You said you loved me,
I didn't return the favor.
You asked if you could kiss me,
I said I didn't like your flavor.
You touched my arm
I swallowed, alarmed.
I told you no
let go of my sleeve I told you to go,
I said you must leave.
Hit your face with a smack
and you listened, come back?
I said I wanted you gone.
You said I'd change my mind.
I said you were wrong,
you weren't me kind.
Said you'd miss the train.
So you left and it rained.
I looked for you,
night and day.
I found you,
you said you can't stay.
I touched your arm
you swallowed hard, alarmed.
I told you the wish I had as I gripped your sleeve.
I never want you to come back
because I never want you to leave.
