Colours, Revised

Colours, Revised
  (Revised 1)

I once sought to find my favorite hue
so many colors from which to choose.
Bright reds, shining gold, so deep blues
days later had it down to only just two.

Blue and gold both so very gay and bold
must decide before I grow tired and old.
The struggle became a great daily fight
if only I could see by the very best light.

Weeks became many months rolling along
so like choosing just one favorite song.
I had started at the tender age of five
shining pool of water yet I could not dive.

Now have tarried on until the age of nine
mercy, that favorite I must soon find.
Finally I decided to just letting 'er rip
a silver dollar to toss up and flip.

Heads was to be the pretty, glorious gold
got to hurry before I get too damn old.
Tails was to be the brilliant sky blue
all around was hanging like a giant clue.

The coin was tossed so very, very high
falling back hitting me on my left thigh.
Clinking onto the ground, as I looked down
saw the answer but my face found a frown.

What kind of clown would settle for gold
pretty at first but later sure to not be bold
So with a second toss over my right shoulder
looking around, there an answer much bolder.

The coin had landed so very perfectly upright
shining now on it was sweet sky blue light.
A majestic stroke of luck, felt so very right
blue it was, loved forever with all my might!
