"Two doves in white flying, feathers glow beneath the morning's rainbow colors" By Charles Messina
As I looked on the horizon far
I saw an assemblage of colors
Arching across the moist sky
It had drizzled half an hour ago
And here and there were tiny droplets
On the serrated edges of rain-washed leaves
Quivering and trembling
And precariously balancing
Lest they fall and break
In that pastel evening shine
How they sparkled like diamonds on a crown!
My eyes feasted on the delicious mix of shades
As the celestial bow stood a crescent overhead
All things living and lifeless
Have joyfully shared its hues and shade
And the sky turned into an exquisite canvas of art
Giving very many eyes a splendid treat
Violet is in the long-stemmed Lavenders tall
That dwarf the daisies growing around
When God willfully spilled a drop of Indigo
Into the vast stretch of waters below
It turned into hazy blue and upon its glassy surface,
The sky is mirrored in azure hue
Brown is in the dead leaves that lie below
And a mix of brown has gone into the earth
All around, I see a tinge of Green
In the turf of velvet below my feet
The prairies and the meadows wide
The fields of clover and of corn
While sunflowers excel in yellow shade
The evening sky, in raiment of orange chiffon is clad.
I see the flaming Red upon the Bulbul’s head
That is darting into its woody nest
After its aerial ride for the evening rest
I sense the red, now rushing through my veins
Making my heart vigorously pump
As a cab speeding after a hump
And my dull spirits, suddenly stirring up
At a distance I see a peacock, dancing in glee under a tree
Displaying all rainbow shades, in a routine ritual after a rain
Oh! Who can stay wretched and sad,
When all around is so colorful and glad?
