I felt the conflict of that summer breeze yearning, my cute friend hummed her graceful song reclining under verdant willow trees. College would soon begin, what could go wrong as I leafed through my literature book to get the feel where emotions belong. I sang a love song to conquer her look, yet sensing in me some quivering throes Left her to cool her feet in the small brook. Then her boyfriend came and hugged her so close, I felt forsaken with too many woes.

Victor this sounds too familiar. Just when you think you have met the girl of your dreams you realize she is taken. Well written and it brought back some memories Sooner or later though it all works out, and you end up with the girl. Hope you are doing well my friend...

Young romance and keen disappointment are well conveyed in this skillfully written poem. So sad when love isn't returned. :)

Victor, your words manage to be both romantic and heartbreaking at the same time. The story takes a tragic turn towards the conclusion, which is effectively communicated.

Sometimes we expect a friendship to be something more and we feel rejected when we realise that that's what it was, a friendship. Tom
