All alone on that day, walking in the hot July sun Upon that unplaved, lonely, hot sandy, downhill dirt road The reward awaited at the lowest point, clear, cool creek

Why, thank you, Anne-Lise. I probably was bare foot by then since school was out, and we could not afford to buy a summer pair of shoes. Thanks for the smiley faces. Sara K

So glad that you do, Judy. It is a truly lovely peaceful place to be in safe circumstances. I am no longer able to walk very far because of pain in my lower back and right hip. I appreciate the visit and kind review of my work. Sara K

Brilliant sijo, as always your way with weaving words left me in awe inspired. To capture moments and memories and deliver them poetically, whether good or bad. And i must also highlight the seamless alliterations in your last line. I felt like i saw through your words, that lonely hot july sandy dirt road.as well as what you’ve conveyed in the last line. Pleasure reading your work always. Sending you light always. Happy new year. Hope this year brings you all that your heart desires

A wonderful year so far. My grandson did the Heimlich maneuver on me when I was choking on New Years Day and saved my life. We went out to eat with family to celebrate birthday the next few months and I got choked on a chip of all things. Sara K

Awesome, Mark, that you learned a new poetry form. I hope you can begin to use it. I am sure I did not do it correctly, but it is a start. Sara K

Oh wow, a nicely done sijo, dear Sara..I love how you've captured a moment in this one, which describes when the spirit was melting in the heat of sun, just when, a beautiful reward of cool serenity waited..Just so gorgeous this is..Your descriptions took me on a journey, within such few words..And that isn't easy to do..So you've really nailed this art! With impeccable phraseology and flow of words..I really enjoyed reading this , especially with those lil alliterative echoes too..just amazing!
