Cold Night Rain

COLD NIGHT RAIN

 numb
 peril
 invades me
 fighting demons
as midnight appears with frozen laughter

Guess night is when our minds are most open to the demons. I can relate to the feelings you describe. Those things we choose consciously to block from our thoughts throughout the day push their way into our minds, adding distractions that prevent sleep. Very well written, Jim. Don't know how I missed this one earlier. Love, Carolyn

Very impactful last couple of lines. I didn't expect that from the title so that was a pleasant surprise. Congratulations on your third place win.
