Closure--Revised
Softly, tenderly whisper it to me just once more
I must hear it before the closing of the door.
Tell me in that voice that’s wired to my soul
Tell me you love me with a love I alone know.
Hold me, mold me to your charms complete
Soothe me with balmed hands before I sleep.
Of a truth, I need you now as never before,
There is a beckoning from that distant shore.
I tremble now, feeling the fateful hour near
It will cruelly seize what I have ever held dear.
But we knew in the backburner of our minds
That for every love, time this moment finds.
Softly, tenderly, whisper it to me just once more
Hurry, love, there is a rasping at the door.
