Closin' Time
Closin' Time
She said now Floyd don't get too close,
I just came here to dance
I came to hear some country tunes
Ain't thinkin' 'bout romance
He said, Wilma, I'm a changed man
Just dance with me and see
I'll stick to two-step sure enough
An' you'll be proud of me
An' so the juke box played George Jones
And Willie now and then
Floyd an' Wilma drank Lone Star
'Til can't remember when
The time flew by 'til half past one
They'd 'bout wore out their feet
Floyd said Wilma don't take me wrong,
But I got brand new sheets
A changed man as I said before
You see me at my best
But I can see you’re plum wore out
An' you could use some rest
She said I've heard this line before
Then laughed and shook her head
I'm glad that you ain't changed a bit
Let's go and find your bed
Now they've children of their own
A pair of boys, two girls
They do their best to raise them right
To face this big ol' world
She warns the girls 'bout closin' time -
Be careful who you pick!
He tells the boys 'bout closin' time -
New sheets'll do the trick!
