Close Friends

My closest friends, who number three
I heed not thus for loyalty
and neither camaraderie
but simply in proximity

They live not down my alleyway
nor porch, nor in my house per se
but underneath my fringed toupee
they're in my head, well stowed away

I was told it wasn't healthy to hear voices... or was it my imaginary friend that said that? Lol! I agree with Tim (the elder one... hehe) about the complex rhyming. I think it's great to have these "little mini you's" that you can talk to at anytime... makes those moments in life where you're alone much more bearable :)

Me, myself and I maybe?...Gotta love yourself before you can love anything or anybody else, huh? (That's what it says to me anyway) Brilliant and complicated rhyming here too, Delysia (And what a beautiful name too!) - Tim

I like your style of this poem. In life it is said that we can count our true friends in one hand and we will still have fingers left over. Thanks for sharing and also for reading my poem. glad that you enjoyed it. Lucilla
