Clasping Your Hand

A walk through life holding your hand Together we shall walk Swinging back and forth as we talk I once pushed you on a swing I once gave you a diamond ring you meant everything Always wherever we went I took your hand Twenty-seven years have disappeared My hand is empty as I walk alone Thinking of yesteryear The one thing most missed is Clasping your hand

I, the reader, can feel your loss as if it were my very own. A moving write, my friend. ~ Gershon

"I once pushed you on a swing I once gave you a diamond ring you meant everything" appropriately placed in the heart of this poem... so much joy and then the sorrow of the past tense. This is a special one.
