City of the Heart
~~~For Hal~~~
You abadoned me for another.
Oh, pain,the heart's most unfriendly
love dagger!
Like a fool, I stood in the freezing,cold
Chicago, loveless rain.
Staring like a love waif, up at the warm,
amber lights of your apartment's
window panes.
Wishing it was me in your love lair!
Caressing your curly hair, oh.....
The cold raindrops danced with my
warm tears.
Such a terribly sad waltz of hopeless
vacuousness, for you, my dear.
