Cicada Rendezvous

the
cacophony
of cicada chirpings
dies down into the stillness of the night.

as
yonder
the giant mango tree
sits still on its own dark-green shadow.

now
a silhouette
of a scarf, white, waving
from an unseen hand assures him...

... she has kept her word!
