May be an image of christmas tree

“Not many fake things are so nice for me, but I sure love an artificial tree.” quote by poem's author We had to ditch last year our Christmas tree. Worn out it was! We needed something new. Big after-Christmas sales we went to see, and huge discounts were more than just a few. We saw a tree – not too small or too tall - a beautiful white tree that was pre-lit. There were no boxed ones left of it at all. I liked it best, so “as is” we bought it. We had to place it carefully inside the back of hubbie’s truck, which worked okay. In three parts it could come apart to hide it till the time we’d put it on display. I love the softness of its lights. It seems like candy land! We did not know about the way its lights give different types of beams. We put it up and figured that all out. Its colored lights can have a steady glow, or they can stay one certain color, or they can flash or brightly beam, then fade low. I could not wait to get it on our floor! Fun ornaments and garlands go around that tree, which makes it a joy to look at. Our two cute kitties very quickly found our tree but don’t attack it. I’m glad for that!

Some thing don't hold up and there a story which is told about them with imagery and euphoric search. You were able to hold on to a emblem of this bless season, and conveyed well the in your lyrical way its final stance. I could almost smell newness. Nicely done.

wow, the pictures got removed. I can't believe they do that to me everytime I use pictures from facebook. Yes, you saw my cute white cat Chico. HE appeared in both pictures but hard to see him. It's actually the dang dog who is bad for the tree. He knocked a few ornaments off by chasing the cats around the tree. Plus he chews the part underneath the tree, the protector for the floor. I can't remember the name for it!

I enjoyed reading your Christmas tree poem and seeing the complimentary photo of your pretty new tree. I can see one of your sweet kitties snuggled comfortably under the tree. Happy Christmas Andrea. Hugs, Anne :-)

Oh I do like artificial trees mainly because they can be reused and we don't have to kill a real tree to decorate for Christmas. I have a small but very bright tree that I have up right now and love it. Am amazed by it's beauty every year. Well done here my friend. God Bless, and Merry Christmas to you and yours. JB

This piece really puts me in the holiday spirit, Andrea. I don't put up a tree anymore, but I do still very much appreciate other folks who do. I love the two pics.

It's the centre piece of the Christmas celebrations, over the years we've had many but our current one although artificial looks quite real. Good luck in the contest Andrea. Tom

Ahhh!! How lovely and what a nice thing to get it on sale. It is good that the cats did not try to climb it and cause a disaster. Thanks for sharing from your life and your cats lives. Sara K

Andrea, it's a great poem. At times like this, our hearts long for the presence of our loved ones who have passed on. Thankfully, we are fortunate to have treasured memories that stay with us. My friend, your use of vivid imagery to express yourself is astounding.

Nice entry for the contest, Andrea, good luck. Kittens can really change the looks of the tree if not "tree friendly". Have a great Christmas season, Hugs, Bill

Just love that quote about 'fake things.' Never thought of that angle before, that 'artificial things' can actually be wondrous.
