Yes, it is breathtaking that Jesus walked on water; Yes, it is amazing that Jesus fed 5000 people With 5 loaves of bread and two fish; That he gave sight to the blind; That he healed many people; That he cleansed lepers; That he raised the dead; And the list is endless. But early this morning, I was consumed with the thought that, In one sense, all the supernatural things that Jesus did was really natural to him, because He was God manifested in the flesh. What floors me most; What most aghast me; What I am most taken aback over Is the fact that he did human things; That he actually was a human also. And I was forced to thank him for becoming mortal. And for me, notwithstanding His Spirit that draws me to Him, Identifying with his humanity is another compulsion that draws me to him. Human like me, he WEPT and felt PAIN. Human like me, SWEAT fell from his body. Human like me, after a long fast, he was HUNGRY and THIRSTY. Human like me, he felt SORROW for what was about to happen to Israel*. Human like me, he felt INDIGNANCY over his father's house being abused. Yes, I identify with Jesus most, not by his miracles. For he was God.
