Christmas In July: Party In the Pool
It's only mid-July but I long for the Christmas holiday
in December when everyone smiles and acts so jolly.
I'm ready to decorate, since July is more than halfway
there, so tonight I'll deck my halls with boughs of holly.
It's a giant stretch of the imagination. Yeah, I know,
I'll need to rent a snow machine to make my plans work...
because you can't build a decent Frosty without snow!
I don't care if my neighbors laugh at me with a smirk.
No tree lots are open, so a potted palm will have to do
and lots of gifts for everyone with summer's heat in mind.
I'm determined this Christmas in July will not be blue
so, we'll party in the pool. No invitations will be declined.
Twelve months is too long to wait for this celebration.
I'll hire a bartender who makes an excellent Mai Tai,
and string red and green lights for festive illumination.
I'm looking forward to celebrating Christmas every July.
