Christmas, 2022

There is the Christ
of a minister's coffer

a Christ of the theater's
show-time

a Christ bought and sold~
the merchant's patron saint

Then, there is the Christ of
the heart eternal...who I've
met at the breast of a mother
with her newborn, His infant
essence~ her labored reward –

the Christ I've seen in the
under-paid nurse, standing in
the shadow of higher accolade

seen Him dismembered, yet
clearly, on battlefields in places
foreign to those blessed selfless'
sighs

sat at the foot of His Throne,
all healed, angels singing praise
while extending His Hand, saying
that I should rise: “Glory to God,
in His Highest!”~ no-longer any
fear left in me, seeing only love in
my Brother's Divinely Beckoning
Eyes.

Thank you, Evelyn; I tried to write a Christmas poem exclaiming my own sense and joy for the season, a bit less generic. I hope that I have succeeded somewhat. Blessings.

This is a powerful, faith filled poem Joe - Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth. We pray for peace in this war infested planet as we see people dying, others crying, whilst missiles bombard them during this blessed season. A wonderful Christmas to you and your family my friend. Hugs, Jennifer.

Sadly Christmas is getting commercialized with every year and for most people, Christmas is reduced to external and empty celebrations. The real Christ can be witnessed among the underpaid and also among the wounded soldiers fighting a brave battle. When we humble ourselves to sit close to His feet and sing glory, He will fill us with divine love and peace, taking all our fears away. A lovely poem dear Joe...
