Chocolate Covered Cherries

Under those wild blue skies.
Her favorite fruit was chocolate
covered cherries.

As the skies fell somewhere in time.
He knew she came from the heavens.
To be dropped into his arms alone.

He always loved the way the juice
dripped off her plump red lips.
As he caught the drops on his tongue.

Capturing some unknown secrets.
As he licked her juicy red lips.
She felt the thrust of his lust in her.

He so loved that childlike wonder in her.
As he looked into her dreamy eyes.
The stars make love to the universe.

As the skies of blue drift over time.
The night stars formed a mystery.
They were full of love, beauty, and lies.

Amazing how chocolate covered cherries and french lust can influence human behavior. Not much real love in a good roll in the hay. Delicious offering. Love, daver

Hoping this holiday season's conclusion finds you well and busy. The fact that you are here somewhat less often can be considered a good sign in a way. You probably have some good things happening. We all hope so.

Hey Debbie, a wonderfully happy healthy new year to you!! Lots of love too, that won't be a product of 'lies' and fallacies! Chocalate covered cherries, a favorite of my sister in law.:0 I'm not sure if her husband would lick the syrup off of her lips though. A romantic write; enjoy the "stars formed a mystery", makes me think of the constellations, but even more of their individual 'mysteries'. Wishing you also that your muse will always remain a close companion. Keep well, Mikki :)

When I was a kid chocolate covered cherries were a rage. I can imagine the mystery you talk about in connection. Good stuff. Love, daver

I missed wishing you a merry christmas, so we will have to settle with, "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" In any case, my best wishes to you. I hope you are well. I know that life sometimes takes over and inhibits the creative urge and voice inside our head and heart. That is not a bad thing. Based on all of your work I have read, I think that the people in your life are blessed. Keep up all the good things you do for us all. With fondness.

By the way, fairway doesn't have cherries of the sour kind. But they do have California apricots. The tartness is pleasing. I like the idea of exotic eating.

Debbie, yes I have not been here much myself. However, it is great to hear from you. We have very busy lives on the short stint of existence. If I was able to make you laugh, that is wonderful. I always loved reading your work. I will try to post more here. I hope you are well. My best wishes and thoughts are with you.

Food is so sensuous like this poem, Debbie. I noticed the twist at the end. The poem has a sense of such fantasy *(fairy tale essence) that It is easy to imagine it is a lie in the end. i really liked this and glad to see you back.

Debbie, I have been away for a while--not prison, but my head has been dealing with life and work related matters. However, you have a glorious talent. I like cherries and chocolate both. Someone recently told me that Fairway Markets has dried sour cherries so I am going to try them. I'll let you know what I think. Anyway, you are the romantic poet of this site. I hope you are well.
