Cherished Memories

i remember
the blue of your eyes
and how tenderly
you held my hand
i remember
the gentle words
you spoke
and the opulence
of your laugh
i remember
your lust for life
and kindnesses bestowed
i remember
the seasons of our life
and how quick they came to flee
now i have these memories
to cherish as
i pick up the pieces
of my heart
