Cheer Up O Weeds

Ignorants knowing little about you, Call you wild weeds, valueless and worthless. Men deem merit as the maid of success, They feel, you weeds utterly lack virtue. And call some hapless souls, society’s weeds— Regardless, still like you they carry on, Hope, one day world would seek your valued seeds, Wait O weeds, for this day one day to dawn. As seeds you too were buried deep in dirt, Wrapped in darkness for long ere ye saw light Like any plant. So, cheer up, feel not hurt. There’s no life that sans struggle reach tall height, No herb that heals not, nor yet greens sans weeds, Cheer up; one day world would vie for your seeds ___________________________________________ Sonnets | 02.08.2007, recast Feb 2022 | green, nature Poet’s note: I view this as an Ode in sonnet form
