Notes About The Poem

Out on a Lim poetry contest Sponsored by Joseph May - 06/09/25

It's sad to see AI poetry posted on the site. Yesterday I discovered that even limericks can be written by CHAT GP but because they are such short poems they escape the AI checker.  My poem is dedicated to those folk who use AI yet claim they have written the poem themselves

Cheating Cheetah!

A cheetah’s caught cheating – bad lad Is punished by Mum, THEN by Dad He’d cribbed his homework His dad went berserk This cheater got caught, I’m so glad!

The saddest truth about cheaters is that cheaters often cheat on themselves, and they dont really realize that. Youv written a brilliant limerick as always. Pleasure reading. Sending you light always

Thanks Ink Empress, its sad to know limericks written by chat gp are on soup, whilst i have no proof when someone posts 5 perfectly written limericks in a row you smell a rat especially if they never wrote the form before and every rhyme poem they post shows 100% Ai - doesnt take einstein to work out they are a cheatah! hugs Jan xx

My school does not pay me well. And I know adults of this private school are using AI.i can't stop a whole generation and I was not hired as an AI under agent. So they can just keep hurting themselves. In the end, who will be authentic in this messed up Society? And who will really have learned English. Let them destroy their own chances in life, that's how I see it.

they are only cheating themselves Andrea. I know schools struggle to know if Ai has been used but they know the ability of the students and if someone's work is 'too good to be you' its probably AI. hugs jan xx

Jan, I feel sad for people who post poems generated by AI. There must be some personality flaw there. However, the recognition these cheaters get will never assuage their lack of self-esteem. I believe we can tell a great deal about what we are reading and get a feeling about each other. That's fortunate at this point. Obviously, that's not so easy for everyone. Please keep doing what you are doing! Smiles!!

I despair of the sire Duke, it galls when my poem placed lower than a poet who is using AI on an almost daily basis and now winning contests. hugs Jan xx at least i write my own poems - they may be crap but at least i produce them myself!

Jan, a great limerick and message. It's funny how some defend PS AI users and still call us " the mean girls". We are mean poets; authentic, creative and we believe in a supportive community. Our poetry has meaning, while some poetry is fake and useless! - hugs

Your blog inspired our collaboration Tania, this poem was inspired by the blatant use of AI on the site, folk are still winning contests with poems 100% AI on 3 checkers and sadly even limericks can be written by chat GP. its sad beyond words, as for mean girls - what is mean about speaking the truth! hugs Jan xx

Jan, your well-written limerick makes a serious point. Parents who KNOW their kids are cheating should do something about it! Janice

sadly we know it is true and people are using AI on here and I know kids use it at school - I recall one student cribbed an English assessment - the teachers know the ability of the students - he failed:-( hugs Jan xx

Sadly I don’t know how to “catch” them but they can’t escape God. They cheat themselves out of growth and the self esteem that comes from poetry writing as art! Great poem!

I dont think some folk have any conscience about doing it on here Karen and when you run a poem through 3 checkers and they all show 100% AI you definitely know something is wrong - although the checkers are 100% accurate i would prefer to see 100 human written!! hugs Jan xx

I don' think all people who feel they need AI to put there thoughts or feeling down in words are bad or deceptive, just lost. AI is a tool, like spell check, word generator, or what's this...." Love Poem Generator" In the left hand column of this page. We should not feel we are competing but creating. We don't choose poems because of who has written them, but by how they can reach our hearts. We as a civilization have been living with cheetah's for many many years now ,we call them geniuses .Ha!

I agree about the love poem generator - it shouldn't be on a site for people who actually write their own poetry - as for calling cheetah's geniuses - no they are just liars who moan when they get caught! hugs jan xx

Jan, if anyone fails to see the point you’re making with your Limerick, it’s because they refuse to open their eyes. Alerted but ignores the facts. That’s why I refuse to take part in contests. Call it a sit out in protest or whatever.

Not every sponsor checks for AI and it I know it cant be used to check for limericks written by chat GP or other similar tools .. but when I smell a rat ... I will say no more ... you know the score:-( hugs jan xx
