Chasing the Ghost
I thought of you ... today.
Then ran to the place,
where daffodils bloomed
and dandelions blew.
Another time, a secret place.
Of yesteryear, filled honey sweet,
Thick taste of sugar
Dripping on our feet.
While lilacs buzzed on the edge
of strawberry dotted fields,
And Mother Nature painted
Her best, another time, perhaps.
Or was it a test, to live our best.
Changed now, a place to rest,
Once a heartbeat in our chest
I thought of you ... today.
