Chapter 24 -- Dolly Damian Friends and Family Part Ii

The fifth floor was decorated
With fancy art work. Molly
Rang the bell. After a few
Minutes an attractive older
Woman answered the door.
She threw the door wide Open
After she saw them
with Damian. "Hello Hello hello
My children". She hugged Molly
And Dolly calling them both by
Their original names. Dolly was
Really Delilah while Molly was
Mallory. She lead them into a
Spacious excellently decorated
2 bedroom apartment. Their
Older sister Nyasha glided from
One of the rooms hugging
Them both with one
Embrace. "I didn't think y'all
Would ever come back this way."
"You've been away for so long."
Both Molly and Dolly thew their
Hands in the air. "Please don't
Think like that." Dolly corrected.
Molly chimed in
"We both have our own lives to
Live. So we can't always
see you When you want."
 Mother Daughtry and their
Sister Nyasha had fixed their
Gaze on Damian. Damian
Proceeded extending his hand
With an extra layer of charisma.
"Hello I'm Damian Hakim
Delilah'sss....fianccce." The four
Woman gasped loudly. He
Stressed the s and c sounds of
The last two words,
Deliberately. The mother
Enthusiastically added "welcome
To the family Damian."
They shook his
Hand. Mother Daughtry broke
Through everybody's thoughts.
"Ok, everybody take a seat at
The table. We'll serve dinner,
Shortly. You all are probably
Hungry hmm." She watched Dolly.
But Nyasha was the first to
Open the subject. "So Delilah
How many months are you?"
Dolly caught her breath. " Aah,
What , what?" She caught Dolly
Unguarded. Damian volunteered
"Yeaaah, she's at least 2 months."
"We Haven't been to the doctor
Yet. That'll be tomorrow."
Everyone was quiet for several
Long minutes. Until Mother
Daughtry's curiosity got the
Best of her. She asked the
First question,"So Damian
what's your Profession?"
Next Nyasha Quizzed,"how tall
are you? What's Your eye color?
How long have
You had your dreadlocks?
Mother Daughtry added, "and
How old are you?" They
Drowned him with curiosity.
Dolly started to answer for him
But he interrupted her. "I'm 6'5"
Hazel eyes. Part-time Bartender
I'll be 26 in August." The Mother
Grabbed Nyasha saying," Come
Let's serve this food everybody's
Hungry." Mother Daughtry
Stepped away after everybody
Was fed pulling Dolly behind her
"Come here I want to talk to you."
In her bedroom she spoke
Quietly, "you'll be 23 next week
You're so young for children
And a husband. And you need
Money. He only works
Part time." Dolly said, "yeah we
Need money but I work as an
LPN." The older Woman turned
Away producing a checkbook
From one of her dresser draws.
"I'll write you a check." she
Wrote Dolly a check for $7,000.
She was a Nurse
Practioner for the past five years.
Nyasha was also an NP, but
She worked at a different
Hospital. Dolly hugged and
Thanked her Mother. Damian
And melancholy Molly
Were patiently waiting to leave.
The ride home was stellar.
They dropped Molly home
First. In the morning Damian
Woke Dolly early for the
Obstetrician appointment.
It was fast everything was
In smooth transition.
She was 12 weeks pregnant.
They Arrived back home early
Enough to just relax and
Talk. Damian picked up the
Conversation first. "Hey babe,
You remember that black and
Blue pickup truck I drove when
I first met you." She said, " I
Remember." "Yeaaah, I sold
It to my cousin for $20 thou."
"That's good Boo." He
Explained, "I used 10 thou of
That to pay for the hummer. So
We do need some Money,
 but we're not starving.
I'm still working Deuces PT.
I'll get a small Pell grant from
School. But I won't graduate for
Another year and some months.
We'll be ok. Oh, yeah I got a
Raise at Deuce, so that's even
Better. Alright?"
He messaged Her thigh. "What
We're you talking to your
Mother about yesterday in the
Bedroom?" He was expecting
The truth. So she told Him,
"Well, she's afraid that I'm to
Young for marriage and family."
Damian became upset. Taking
A deep breath he asked "What
Do you believe, Delilah?"
She began," I...
I don't....I think I can handle it.
I'm not to young." Damian
Sat down on luxurious
Couch and put her on his lap.
"And I'll be
Right There with you. Helping"
"Tell me the rest." Dolly looked
Away. He Held her chin. "Tell
Me." "She gave me a check
For $7,000." "It's still early I'll
Take you to the bank and you
Can deposit it."

Damian looked at Her concerned

"wait babe, you look kinda
Pale are you taking the
Prenatal vitamins
Prescribed?" "Yeah. I don't think
I'm getting enough calories,
Though, I'm hungry now."
She spoke, Heading towards
the kitchen. Damian said,
"Alright, Delilah. Stay home
I'll deposit the check." She
Put the check in his hand
With her ATM Card.

.He took his keys and
Was out of the door and back
In 45 minutes. The next months
Passed quickly and uneventful.
She and Damian visited
Friends and family members
So often so that most of her
Uncles (3)knew who he was
And she knew most of his
Family and friends
Everyone was looking
Forward to the big baby

6 months pregnant Dolly
Maintained a ravenous
