The fifth floor was decorated With fancy art work. Molly Rang the bell. After a few Minutes an attractive older Woman answered the door. She threw the door wide Open After she saw them with Damian. "Hello Hello hello My children". She hugged Molly And Dolly calling them both by Their original names. Dolly was Really Delilah while Molly was Mallory. She lead them into a Spacious excellently decorated 2 bedroom apartment. Their Older sister Nyasha glided from One of the rooms hugging Them both with one Embrace. "I didn't think y'all Would ever come back this way." "You've been away for so long." Both Molly and Dolly thew their Hands in the air. "Please don't Think like that." Dolly corrected. Molly chimed in "We both have our own lives to Live. So we can't always see you When you want." Mother Daughtry and their Sister Nyasha had fixed their Gaze on Damian. Damian Proceeded extending his hand With an extra layer of charisma. "Hello I'm Damian Hakim Delilah'sss....fianccce." The four Woman gasped loudly. He Stressed the s and c sounds of The last two words, Deliberately. The mother Enthusiastically added "welcome To the family Damian." They shook his Hand. Mother Daughtry broke Through everybody's thoughts. "Ok, everybody take a seat at The table. We'll serve dinner, Shortly. You all are probably Hungry hmm." She watched Dolly. But Nyasha was the first to Open the subject. "So Delilah How many months are you?" Dolly caught her breath. " Aah, What , what?" She caught Dolly Unguarded. Damian volunteered "Yeaaah, she's at least 2 months." "We Haven't been to the doctor Yet. That'll be tomorrow." Everyone was quiet for several Long minutes. Until Mother Daughtry's curiosity got the Best of her. She asked the First question,"So Damian what's your Profession?" Next Nyasha Quizzed,"how tall are you? What's Your eye color? How long have You had your dreadlocks? Mother Daughtry added, "and How old are you?" They Drowned him with curiosity. Dolly started to answer for him But he interrupted her. "I'm 6'5" Hazel eyes. Part-time Bartender I'll be 26 in August." The Mother Grabbed Nyasha saying," Come Let's serve this food everybody's Hungry." Mother Daughtry Stepped away after everybody Was fed pulling Dolly behind her "Come here I want to talk to you." In her bedroom she spoke Quietly, "you'll be 23 next week You're so young for children And a husband. And you need Money. He only works Part time." Dolly said, "yeah we Need money but I work as an LPN." The older Woman turned Away producing a checkbook From one of her dresser draws. "I'll write you a check." she Wrote Dolly a check for $7,000. She was a Nurse Practioner for the past five years. Nyasha was also an NP, but She worked at a different Hospital. Dolly hugged and Thanked her Mother. Damian And melancholy Molly Were patiently waiting to leave. The ride home was stellar. They dropped Molly home First. In the morning Damian Woke Dolly early for the Obstetrician appointment. It was fast everything was In smooth transition. She was 12 weeks pregnant. They Arrived back home early Enough to just relax and Talk. Damian picked up the Conversation first. "Hey babe, You remember that black and Blue pickup truck I drove when I first met you." She said, " I Remember." "Yeaaah, I sold It to my cousin for $20 thou." "That's good Boo." He Explained, "I used 10 thou of That to pay for the hummer. So We do need some Money, but we're not starving. I'm still working Deuces PT. I'll get a small Pell grant from School. But I won't graduate for Another year and some months. We'll be ok. Oh, yeah I got a Raise at Deuce, so that's even Better. Alright?" He messaged Her thigh. "What We're you talking to your Mother about yesterday in the Bedroom?" He was expecting The truth. So she told Him, "Well, she's afraid that I'm to Young for marriage and family." Damian became upset. Taking A deep breath he asked "What Do you believe, Delilah?" She began," I... I don't....I think I can handle it. I'm not to young." Damian Sat down on luxurious Couch and put her on his lap. "And I'll be Right There with you. Helping" "Tell me the rest." Dolly looked Away. He Held her chin. "Tell Me." "She gave me a check For $7,000." "It's still early I'll Take you to the bank and you Can deposit it." Damian looked at Her concerned "wait babe, you look kinda Pale are you taking the Prenatal vitamins Prescribed?" "Yeah. I don't think I'm getting enough calories, Though, I'm hungry now." She spoke, Heading towards the kitchen. Damian said, "Alright, Delilah. Stay home I'll deposit the check." She Put the check in his hand With her ATM Card. .He took his keys and Was out of the door and back In 45 minutes. The next months Passed quickly and uneventful. She and Damian visited Friends and family members So often so that most of her Uncles (3)knew who he was And she knew most of his Family and friends Everyone was looking Forward to the big baby bash Bonanza. At almost 6 months pregnant Dolly Maintained a ravenous Appetite. Damian studied Fiercely as if he would Graduate ahead of time. He Still had one more year of Classes to graduate. January 2025 was the projected Date.
