Chapter 14 -- Damian and Polly: First Apartment

Date. August 2023 Damian turned 22 and Moved from his family's estate Into his own duplex apartment, 5 bedrooms. One master bedroom and 1 and a half bathrooms. Down town West Virginia. One night While working the bar a customer Entered the bar and ordered a Bacardi cocktail and started a Conversation. "Ay my man you into Football? Who's your team?" Damian Said, "Uh when I have the time I like To check out the panthers." Damian Asked, "What's your title? Where You hailing from partner?" The man leaned Over the bar to shake Damian's Hand saying, "I'm from DC! Leon Shakespeare! Just moved here!" Damian shook his hand firmly and then assumed the Brotherhood handshake. "Good to Have your acquaintance Shakespeare." "Yeah, same here." Shakespeare said. Damian wanted to know more about Him. "So Shakespeare, you live near Here? Got family around?" He Responded, "Yeah I live in town About 5 miles from here. I been Living here for about 2 months now Since my wife is pregnant we had To have a bigger place." Damian Answered, "Aha congrats Shakespeare!" When's she due?" Shakespeare Boasted loudly November! I'm a Father, Daddy Leon Shakespeare!" Damian bolstered "That's all right man!" Damian was impressed with the 6'3" man who just leaned over his Bar to shake his hand. Damian now Stood 6'5" and only 22 years old. 20 minutes later Damian said, "Hey Shakespeare This is quiting time." He stepped From behind the bar saying, "I have To speak with the supervisor I'll be Back." Then disappeared to his Uncle's office. "Uncle Kerris I'm done For the day I'll be leaving. I'll check You." Kerris said, "Yeah Damian You've been operating magnificently So far, keep it going son!" He said "Yeah, thanks Uncle, you know it." And quickly exited the room with Classic charisma. Kerris watched His nephew proudly. Back at the front Of the place Damian left the bar With Shakespeare. Outside they Parted and exchanged the familiar Brotherhood handshake in the Process Shakespeare passed him His business card. "Uh okay yeah I'll call you." Damian showed a speck Of surprise. "Okay Damian. I see You later." "Alright later man." He crotched Into his huge pickup truck and drove home. Damian Swept into his house admiring The scene 2 in the morning, and made The choice to buy furniture later. He Didn't bother to remove most of His clothes instead he drifted to sleep With his jeans, socks and his t- shirt. The next morning He was a little irritated that he'd Fallen asleep with his clothes on. So he hopped into the shower 15 minutes dressed to finesse. He Pondered, "I need furniture. Extra king bed. Couch oh this is good I'm gonna need help." He called three of His brothers CJ Julius and Jackson To help him. "Hey CJ brother how's It been?" CJ didn't recognize his Voice at first. "Damian? That's you Man?" Damian flared, "who you think Man?" CJ said, "Glad to hear you Damian!" CJ stated, "well you know Damian You need to come visit more and In turn of course I'll visit you. Okay?" Damian said, "Of course CJ I will Make it my duty! And I want to See Ma and Dad, and HEY! the whole Family. But now I need some family Cooperation. Just a little assistance. Alright?" CJ said, "Yeah, say it I'll be there." Damian ordered, "And CJ Make sure you come with Julius And Jackson. I'll be waiting." Now Polly was ringing his Cell phone, "Yeah Polly, what's Going on?" Polly said, Through her Tears, "I been crying all night Damian this just...this isn't right. Damian!" She was yelling into the Phone. He Held it away from his Ear. "Hey! Easy! I'll be over a little Latet...alright. then we'll talk." She said, "Okay! Okay Damian. Can't wait to see you baby." "Yeah later." He placed the phone into his Bag. He was supposed To be at work for 10:30 at night. It was 6:50 now. This was his First night at Deuces. He wanted Promptness nothing less. Uncle Kerris put the word in for him. So there wasn't a problem. He strolled To the Front door and through The doorway then stood for 5 minutes When the brother entourage arrived. CJ had his truck, Julius and Jackson Had theirs. Jackson said, "You ready We don't have all day!" Damian jumped Into his big pickup and said, "Let's Be about It!" Pumped the peddle. And bellowed, "We out!" The drive Was 20 minutes. They park all Four trucks as close to the entrance As possible. The place was huge. CJ spoke "Okay brother say what you need." They sell just about anything." Damian spewed orders. "I want Washer dryer, couch, bed, pillows Bedspread, tables chairs." "I want a big bed extra king I will Order that." The brothers spread Out to fill the orders. By the end Of the spree Damian collected A stereo set, new name brand. An area carpet and linen. Everybody Had the big warehouse shopping carts. Jackson and Julius returned with As much as they could handle. CJ had a big dinette set. Damian Said we'll put some of this on Delivery." Everybody had linen. They all Found separate checkout lines. Damian paid with 2 credit cards The total was $73,000. On their way home 9:35. "Y'all did good. Thanks family! They head back to Damian's, dropped The the couch off with the pillows And linen, and love seat. He embraced Them all, "Thanks again brothers You know I got you too, if anything." "We family! Later!"
