CHAPPELL'S MILL The old mill is still standing A product of bygone days It's a place where people visit And reminisce of primitive ways As a child, I used to go there Fascinated by what I saw Mr. Chappell took time explaining And never made a flaw His ground meal was an icon And his old mill an icon too Though he's gone on to glory His legacy is not yet through It lives on in the old grist mill That is part of our town's history If you are ever in Dublin, Georgia It's a place you'll want to see 22 May 2018 For the Grist Mill contest sponsored by Craig Cornish

How we often see these relics' of days gone by and I always try and picture the scene in its heyday, hive of bustling activity with everyone going about their business. Lovely write Curtis , good luck. Tom.

Tom, I entered this contest based solely on the theme. I just had to "show off" this old relic which is not too far from my house. Lots of young couples use it as a backdrop for wedding photos. Quite a historical spot. Glad you like the write. No fiction in this one. lol
