Changing Seasons
Changing Seasons
Now is that long awaited Summer past.
That short sunlit Season of warm content,
That fleeting fragrant petalled interlude
When fertile Summer’s song prevailed.
Now the Season turns and Autumn sets her mark
When, on long shadowed days, birds gather
And summoned by unknown calls depart
To far distant nests as days pass to a slow beat.
Playful spirits toss the falling leaves,
Late Summer storms fill the air
As restless ghosts of All Halllow's Eve stir.
In deep burrows Nature settles to Winter’s rest.
Now secret mists hide the rippling rill
And Autumn sings her song in a Minor key.
