changes summer days shiver shadows ride the rising mists ~ orange red moon rise long days grow shorter wisps of afternoon linger ~ remnants of summer lazy fall mellows sleepy sunbeams stretch their legs ~ pumpkins glow amber red apples ripen golden pears grow large and sweet ~ boughs of fruit salad twilight comes early scarlet seeps into green leaves ~ autumn breath chills nights

What a great haiku series, Sam, a walkoff game winner! I love all your imagery in this segue of waning summer into waxing fall, a reader can see how much you love the season. So many delightful lines but "scarlet seeps into green leaves" and "sleepy sunbeams stretch their legs" are faves for me. Congrats for being ranked #2 on BNP list, definitely a Fav for me! How rhythmic is this poem, the way you’ve painted imagery and how it flows is so stunning. I love “ summer days shiver” how deep is that and poetic, conveys so much and drew me right in. “Sleepy sunbeams stretch their legs” so clever and creative!
