Notes About The Poem

Change What

Now spring will bring another time of change
As apprehension raises my eye brows
I welcome beauty to these days so strange
Though family values take an exit bow
The closeness that we cherished long ago
Has slowly faded like the winter days
While everything we use we now dispose
Including principles of moral ways
Technology replaced talks face to face
Divorce now grafts new branches to our trees
Adultery is viewed as commonplace
And vows to God and spouse we break with ease
I welcome beauty to these days so strange
But wonder what the next thing is we'll change

A timely heartfelt piece of soulful ponderings that questions our choices in this quickly changing world. You have precisely penned the throw away culture and artificial connections that have invaded our core. Excellent writing , very deftly penned. blessings, lynn

Very well done, Danny. It's sickening how people are treating their cell phones better than their own kids. Hardly paying any attention to what mischief their kids are even up to. any more. Great message sonnet!

Yes, it is so true; people are mostly intimate with devices, can't seem to make eye contact. This poem is relevant and always will be because change won't change; our one consistent. I truly enjoyed this bittersweet write ... CayCay

Unfortunately we now live in a throw away society. Wanting everything and everything new and better not seeing the beauty of holding onto and cherishing something

Politeness and being gracious is never old fashioned. Neither is keeping wedding vows, but the fast pace of technology has taken away so much. However, what is old becomes new again so we still have hope. I enjoyed this Daniel. Guess I am old fashioned too! ; )

One of my favorite sayings is,"things don't always change for the better". I guess the older I get, the more skeptical I get. Thank you, Connie for your VALUED comment:) Peace my dear friend:):)
