Chance of Rain
I search for messages you never leave
I touch your pillow that lies beside me
I'm still awake in the morning at three
and I wish I could forget you
The days are long and summer strong
That old mighty sun burns so bright
Too long since the weather's changed
and I wish for a chance of rain
I hear your number has been disconnected
Yet I still dial it from memory
I was just going to tell you something funny
and I forget you don't love me
I need to take a holiday
I need to get up and go away
I need to feel cool and renew
and I need to forget that I love you
The days are long and summer is strong
That old mighty sun burns so bright
Too long since the weather's changed
and I wish we had a chance of rain...
A chance of rain
because I still love you
What I really need is another chance with you
and you'll wish the rainy days away
for a chance of love renewed
