Celebration We Should Support

Celebration We Should Support Fourth of July I did find in my mind Celebration to support and special kind Of holiday we have making much sense Which is all about our independence. Democracy we always do highly value Promoting honesty and only what is true And a shining example we see each day In every sports game that we will play. Better off we never could possibly be If it wasn't for those on other side of sea Who made us realize happiness be in pursuit Made secure for us by a recent new recruit. Soldier, sailor, in air, Coast Guard or Marine Are some of the finest people I have ever seen Understand why and what is worth fighting for No wonder ones like them need more and more. James Thomas Horn, Retired Veteran and Poet PS. Future Poem of Day have heard some say.

James, this is another wonderful tribute to our Independence Day and what this country is all about! Please accept my sincere appreciation for the service you rendered to our country and the sacrifices you made for the preservation of freedom and democracy!!! I was also particularly drawn to this write as my older son serves in the Army. Thank you so very much and God bless you always, my friend! This piece deserves a 7. Pandita

There is no better way to respect honor then with an honorable poem. My dad was killed on the Carrier Intrepid CVA-11 now in New York Harbor when it was off of Sicily in the Med. He is now buried there in 200 feet of water. This was in August of 1956. Jim Horn
