Caught In the Four Winds
September waking
lives already lived
one thousand
winding roads
leaves once green
fall
shifting
winds
from all directions
one thousand jobs
one thousand stories
I’ve lived them all
the home team
seeks victory
an ageless call
life's motions
cast in shadows
days grow shorter
headstones on rolling hills
foretell fortunes
the call of winter
the year passes
with barely a whisper
