Catch a Smile
And when a smile is genuine
it comes from somewhere deep within
the light that lives inside our hearts
is what allows it to begin
Encouraged by the echoed joy
of laughter, such a happy sound
that teases eardrums with a grin
so wide it’s easy to be found
The morning birds, a baby’s coo
the kindness that can fill the air
so many things can lift the world
and smiling could be everywhere
Just put your troubles on a shelf
and let them stay there for awhile
they are a bit contagious, so
watch out, you just may catch a smile
