Cast Not the First Stone

When we err, it is of human design.
Words spoken unhindered, without forethought,
deeds are done, not meaning to undermine.
Are we that perfect that we err not?

Yet still, our honor, is then redefined.
To offer forgiveness, true from aloft,
it is two souls you have realigned.
Are we that perfect that we err not?

Bringing closure to all those thus entwined.
Not just the transgressor, relieved of a black spot,
you placed yourself on the side of divine.
Are we that perfect that we err not?

For the contest:

Oh I like the message in this one.!...no one is perfect, and bringing closure on both sides, it the true heart of forgiveness. Indeed....to forgive is divine....forgetting is the hard part! :) ps....I just saw on my member's page, you have picked my poem as 2nd in your last contest, Tears....I thank you so much, Paula! You do have the best ideas for contest...looking forward to your next one. Thanks again!! Love, Carrie

To err is human, if we have the heart to act godlike, but how many of us have that. reality is most of us persist. Paula. enjoyed the read
