Spinning 'round this room again
The overdone verse of the mirror
Mockingly brings a chorus to me now
Only my laughter out-sings the pressure
Here, sanity is kept safe in capsules
They see the torment and press the button
Shut off the lights, lock the chair
And send me spinning again
I see the faces in my reflection
I see the side of reality unreal to you
When you're on the other side
It never matters what you say
It never matters what you do
They'll never believe you
Left alone, to be overpowered
The silence brings the most noise
Open shadows make way for them
A horrid rift between the face and the voice
Drug-induced peace of mind
White-washed concrete walls
Lack the linear solace of verse
The mattress feels so hard
When you're strapped down to it
Close my eyes and fall through
Embrace the friendly nightmare
I reluctantly see as life
A word which holds no meaning
In what is unfortunately mine
It's all the same to me
They're all the same to me
Dictated ambiance
Gelatin-coated prison cell
Easier to swallow
Easier to drown
In the shallow, half-full Dixie cup
Back in this room again
No matter how hard I stare
How many times I spin around
The reflection stays the same
Because they're not in the mirror
They're not in the mirror
I'm not the crazy one
