Notes About The Poem

Last night in Chicago: Two (more) carjackings about 3.5 miles from my house.  Two of the three arrested and charged were 14 year-old girls. The other was a 14 year-old boy.

Car-Jack and Jill

Jill decided she'd live a life of crime
Profitable way to spend all her time --
Gang boss said, "Learn to Carjack
And we'll always have your back --
In Chicago we'll set you up full-time"

After 4-years of a President who spent his entire life defrauding others, did you expect a different result? Aloha! Rico

Sounds like you're equating the dramatic rise in car-jackings with Trump's shortcomings. Did I get that right?! ~ gw

Hi Gershon, It's so sad that during these trying times, this still happens. They are still young hopefully, they will learn and turn their lives around. Good limerick. I enjoyed the read. Have a great evening and weekend- Alexis

Witty limerick, Gershon! So sad, though--young kids doing things to ruin their own lives and terrify other people! Janice

It sure is sad, all the really young teens so deeply enmeshed in a life of crime. The pandemic hasn't helped here in Chicago. Schools closed since last March. Kids without motivation and/or computer/skills have nothing better to do but court trouble. ! ~ Gershon

It's getting scary for everyone in Chicago... The neighborhood where the carjacking occurred, Edgewater, is a pretty nice neighborhood. Far from the ghetto... :) gw
