Cards
I would write,
and draw...
and make a card
every day,
if I thought it would
lesson the distance between us
by only an inch.
I would keep writing
and drawing,
in an effort to make it a mile,
then two and three
and so on.
I miss you.
I think of you every day,
my friend.
I think of you to brighten life.
Sometimes it is dark,
because you are not here.
But the very thought,
of your presence,
helps me to see,
the storm will clear
and all will be okay,
in the end.
It is as you have always said,
we are friends,
without boundaries,
of time, and space...
There is no moment
I am truly on my own,
as I have been gifted
with being loved,
and considered...
more than I am,
or ever was
by someone that makes me laugh,
and lets me,
make them laugh
in return.
I miss you.
Did I write that?
