Captivated

Here I am again, wanting more
standing upon the threshold to enter your door.
You have become part of what I am
not the essence, no
but certainly an integral, a part essential
vital aspect of my day.
The coloratura in an aria
where heart, mind and soul
throb in unison for this compulsion.

Not an addiction, no
but an oasis found in my desert journey.
You fill that void
where nothing and no one has and ever will.
You speak to my subliminal core
like no one ever did before,
except the One who created us
with freedom of choice, and gave this blessed voice.

Not many were fortunate to know
your wisdom, your wit, and sensuality
and with you I am able to express myself.
You are vibrant, fascinating
and I am captivated, sated and satisfied
until the next time
that I drink from your cup
will I have my fill of you...
Oh Poetry.

You know how to savor the Muse that has brought your heart to the threshold of an emotional wilderness, and which has given language to the philosophy of your desire Kim. Poetry reciprocates what it feels and learns from creative truth, it will give you romance, rage, love, despair, courage and moral exploration, it will enlighten your body and brain, Poetry is in love with you, because you are in love with It. "You speak to my subliminal core..." J.A.B.

Captivating poem with unique twist at the end, as I expected a person. But that is good, I like your surprise and personification, plus detailed description of what poetry is to you. eg. not an addiction, but an oasis. That is great!

This is lovely, Kim. Coloratura- great choice of word to describe a vibrant, uplifting relationship. I didn't so much read this work as to breathe it. Spellbinding stuff. #7 from me. Viv x
