Can'T Let Go
at that stop sign in the middle of the road my mind is moving slow
which way do i turn?
which way do i go?
i know i've gotta leave but i can't let go
friends turn into foes and sweet honeys turn into sour hoes
i ponder the past when the garbage seemed like gold
i know i've gotta leave but i can't let go
nothing ever lasts...
good turns to bad and happy turns sad
peace, love, and joy turn to miserable and mad
still i search for diamonds in the desert
and i'm finding only rocks
i seek jewels in junkyards
and receiving only rust
i cast my pearls to swine and they devour me slow
i know i've gotta leave but i can't let go
it's that same smooth song that turns into sand paper symphonies
mad melodies and teardrops that turn into floods
ones of care and compassion now they just don't care
like gripping steel rods that are burning with heat
chased and criticized by bad men and beasts
no love no peace....
just whirlwinds and war
i grab that barbwire
bleeding...
i beg that monster for more
i know i've gotta leave but i can't let go
