Cancer
I think we have all been impacted by this grievous diagnosis.
I’m not sure what’s worse, the cancer, the treatment or the prognosis.
Whether it’s your Mom or Dad, Sister or brother.
An old classmate or best friend, someone you’ve loved like no other.
Cancer is unforgiving, it does not discriminate.
It comes in many different forms with no particular mandate.
I’ve witnessed strong people beat it, with a courageous fight.
I’ve watched both my Mom and Dad succumb, to its heinous plight.
But the one thing about cancer that I have never seen.
It has never conquered the human spirit, no matter how obscene.
I’ve seen love first hand, that cancer could never seize.
My prayers are with you and everyone touched, by this horrible disease.
