Can You Hear That!?
My morning starts out pretty normal
Usually for the first minute or two
Aside from my husbands constant snoring
Who by the way, sounds like the public zoo
I’m the first to rise, fumbling to grab my robe
Tripping over debris, from the night before
Stubbing my toe and stumbling, reaching for ground
Hoping I can stay afoot until I make it to the door
A big tall cup of steaming hot java
Is definitely my first morning request
Before hopping into that infamous shower
As I try to look my very best
Kids bouncing off the walls, loud and boisterous
I’ve never seen energy such as this
Searching, looking and needing to find
Lost items as I send them off with a kiss
Can you hear that, this very unfamiliar sound?
It’s called silence, a definite rarity
No boisterous kiddies running amok
A silent sound with beautiful perfect clarity
