Can I Call My Mom and Ask Her

“My mom says …” “Nice. What do you say?” “My mom feels…” “Terrific. How do you feel?” “I don’t know.” This seems odd to me. “You don’t know your feelings?” Eleven shakes her head ‘no’. “Do you feel happy, excited, joyful, sad, mad?” I ask her gently. There is a long pause. It goes on for minutes Which seems like hours. “Okay,” she says. “I do not think okay is a feeling, “I tell her. “What does okay feel like?” “I don’t know,” she says. “Can I call my mom and ask her?” “Ask her how you feel?” Eleven shakes her head ‘yes’. I have no words. Never experiencing this prior to today.
