Came the Thunder
As her sweet face came into view
Though not sweet as it used to be
Underneath a deep furrowed frown
Lightning flashed from her eyes at me!
I backed up against a table
Things fell down loud, all a clatter
After lightning came the thunder
She was mad, but what's the matter?
What she didn't say wasn't much
Expletives deleted (Be glad!)
My end of the deal came up short
It's easy to see she was mad
It was a misunderstanding
But there's no mistaking the sign
A reminder of what would be
If per chance I fell out of line!
