Cafe Tanka POTW

under the teal night
at shared table we sit close
passersby unseen
your fingertips on my tea
a new masterpiece unfurls

The canvas is unmistakably Van Gogh. The rich blue and luminous yellows mixed with the varying shades of forset greens and vibrant orange say it all. Nobody ever painted with such luxurious colour like Van Gogh. And you too have managed to endow your Tanka with the same deft expertise: "under the teal night". Lovely phrases throughout. Great work, JCB. In admiration. :) john

Congratulations on your POTW. I really like this comparison of "masterpieces." I had a relationship once that I thought was a masterpiece, until I discovered an uncomfortable flaw. But you can always depend on a good Haiku like this one!
