By Your Leaves
By your leaves,
I see your changing mood
Inspired by the sun
Nurtured by the breezes
And tears that clouds have spun
Your leaves of spring
In verdant tones
Do cast the world anew
In avocado, apple, sage
So thankful to review
Your summer trees
In shoots and sprays
And sprigs, grant us the shade
And show us you are happy
With all that you have made
Your harvest hues
Do yield a hint
Of fire, crimson, gold
Resplendent fury flags the great
Finale to behold
By your leaves,
I see your course complete
When winter paints the scene
So stoic in your ambiance
Asleep in evergreen
