Young Lovers by the Lily Pond, by Suzette Richards – image generated 19/2/2024
As Moon dipped in behind the crag,
his countenance devoid of smile:
A gargoyle that empathy lag
in its features, rugged and vile,
and given to malevolence.
Echoes of criticism received,
totally lack benevolence.
From mankind and love cleaved.
As Moon snuck form behind the crag,
her face lit up in beauteous smile:
A fair maiden not wont to lag,
nor given over to being vile,
totally lack malevolence.
Echoes of compliments received,
she’s given to benevolence.
To mankind and love cleaved.
A wondrous occurrence indeed
when Selene waved her magic wand.
Now her smile had frozen heart freed
to embrace by the Lily Pond.
