By Amazing Grace

On the train track strolled a boy; a preacher's son was he. A good and friendly child, he was happy as could be. Wearing his new headphones, he was listening to a song. Focusing on it alone, he loudly sang along. As "Amazing Grace - how sweet the sound" he belted out, something huge he did not hear was on its morning route. A train it was! And as the boy walked that railroad track, fast the train was coming, clickety-clickety-clack. The child's tune would be drowned out before he even knew that the train fast approaching was even in his view! The engineer already had begun slowing down before the boy turned and then stood rooted to the ground. The train screeched, AND THEN IT STOPPED inches from his face! The preacher's son had been saved by amazing grace. July 4, 2017

While this may not be a true story. God's grace sure is in all it's glory. It rest's on us to see the light when he shine's it in the darkest night. I'm still trying to calm my heart after this suspenseful read. Awsome. Your poem, and that my heart's still ticking. :)

Great story, I had a feeling the train would not hit him. Is this story true? Reminds me of the movie Crash it's like a 9 degrees separation movie. Check it out on Utube & click on the movie. But I love the way your poem read :)

Only God could stop a train that fast. In reality the preacher would be standing over his body at his funeral. Shows the goodness in your heart, Andrea. Good luck:)

this is what happens when poets know nothing about the subject they are dealing with . haha. Yes, in this case, God alone could have helped him!
