Notes About The Poem

Butterfly Angel

Sun bronzes my wings
As I flutter in the wind
Drinking the nectar of flowers
Chasing lovers
		 in skies bright or grim
Dancing on clouds swirly white
Softly I sing of natures right
To love all other breathing things
A God who says different
Is a serpent who sins

I feel you are saying something more than just talking about a butterfly here, Arthur. I really like the last two lines but wish I understood them better! This little poem is very beautiful.

ok ... if you are a butterfly ... "to love all other breathing things" uhm do cockroaches breathe ... does a brown recluse breathe ... does a cobra breathe ... ok ... "to love all other breathing things" perhaps a "Santa clause" ... i can love any breathing thing ... if I hate what that breathing thing does ... what does that make me ... if that breathing thing is living under the rock with the serpent ... what does it make me if i hate what the serpent does ... now ... mull that over with God.

I must say you delved deeply to find negativity in a poem about a butterfly and all things that God created. I think you need to dig a little deeper in your mulling process to discover why God created the things you say you hate. He has his reasons for everything and it's not for the simple mind of any human to question Him.
